Veraison is the french word for "change"...can't we all use a little change right now? It signifies the changing color as grapes evolve from green to purple (also seen in the label). The skins are mostly responsible for the wine's tannin and complexity, making it a perfect statement of the winemaker's philosophy. Another tidbit, Stagecoach Vineyard is the place where the famous Black Bart stole from Wells Fargo stagecoaches when the bank tried to evict him from his lands.

Winemaker Tasting Notes:

Aromas of ripe blackberry, currant, dark cherry and baking spices lift from the glass of this elegant mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. The lush mouthfeel shows dark fruit coupled with hints of cedar and anise. Bright acidity is balanced by rounded tannins with a touch of black pepper on the finish. Pair with grilled bone-in ribeye in rosemary butter with roasted root vegetables or a medium rare cheeseburger with aged cheddar, sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions. Drink now through 2035.

Stagecoach Vineyard:

Rising high above marine layer fog in the Vaca Mountains with red, volcanic rocky soil, Stageoach Vineyard produces some of Napa Valley's most coveted fruit. Dr. Jan Krupp hand selected his favorite blocks for Krupp Brothers to create wines of great intensity, nuance and structure.
